Daily Deviation

Given 2010-01-25
11:11 by ~sophiamedium There is always that shock of transition... those opening moments of a film or video when you are moving from your world into the reality of the piece you are watching. During the opening moments of 11:11... I was not entirely sure where I was being taken... the bright saturated colors and costumes were not exactly my cup of tea.. but the strong cinematography and haunting soundtrack keep me watching. I am glad I did... the video really comes alive. The young girl, the central figure is very well directed and turned in a very genuine performance. Her characterization bound the piece together as much as the song. It is important to note that virtually every major component of this piece was created by the ~sophiamedium from the song to the screenplay to the direction. There are some very strong visuals here and the hyper-saturated color grade sold the dreamlike quality of the video. When you are dealing with animal costumes and child performers and lots of color... you dance very close to the edge of cheesiness but ~sophiamedium pulls it off. Kudos to Sophia and her creative team. Great job. ( Featured by `Zenfilm )

@04:38Hmm... I just downloaded this for iTunes and the last minute and a half or so was completely silent...

this video should not be available on itunes. I did not authorize it for download through iTunes, thanks for the heads up, I will have to call the copyright dept about that. I just got online her @ DA after many months and did not know this was going on. Sorry you had to experience that. My other video "Mirror Mirror" was inappropriately/illegally utilized as well online,had to shut down the band that stole it for their own use. Oh well, go to get to this as well. Thanks for the tip. : )

No no no, I don't mean it's available on iTunes. I mean, I downloaded it from dA and then uploaded it to my iTunes library (my own personal library, not a shared one or anything like that); that's where I experienced the error.
Sorry about the confusion! ^^;

Oh no worries, I get you now. I am glad it finally worked for you. Thanks for enjoying the video and adding it to your files. I actually changed that feature too, due to a musical band in South America trying to steal one of my videos by re-editing it, dubbing over my music with theirs, and then taking all my credits off the film and replacing it with theirs, sheesh! I'm not even making bank yet and some dudes out there are already ripping off my work, silly and stupid. it was so lame.

However, thanks for enjoying the work. It seems so long ago when I did that video. I was MIA from DevArt for so long making 2 new music videos I just posted one titled "Bypass". Feel free to check it out when you can.

Take care, Sophia :)

Wow, this is incredible. I Love everything about it. The locations and colors are awesome. I especially like the purple tint towards the end, reminds me of the colored wrapping that came on easter baskets when I was a kid. In fact a lot of this reminded me of childhood experiences and it almost seems to mirror how memories of amusement parks and holidays become cloudy as you get older and they take on a somewhat eerie and oversaturated quality. This is a work of art, awesome job.

Jesse, thank you, yeah, you got it, 1970's Kodak look. Eerie memories come back to through moving faded pictures. Thanks for checking it out and thank you for the kind comments.
